ACUPUNCTURE FOR IVF IN ESSEX

There is plenty of clinical evidence around how acupuncture can improve treatment outcomes and live birth rates when used alongside an IVF cycle, so much so that many couples are now choosing to make this an integral part of their IVF treatment.

I am a member of the Acupuncture Fertility Network, a professional organisation that brings together acupuncturists who specialise in fertility care, have undertaken post-graduate qualification and continued study in gynaecology and fertility support.

Importantly, I understand the physical and emotional drain and stress associated with a tough path to parenthood.
I am here to support you, with Acupuncture being a key part of that support.

How does Acupuncture work to support IVF?
IVF Acupuncture stimulates a local nervous system response which sends messages out to all of our body's main systems, including the reproductive system. You can relax whilst your body is gently nudged to do the work!

When should I come for treatment?
There are some key times to support an IVF cycle with acupuncture.
-
The 3 months before your cycle starts are key, but if you've missed that window, the sooner the better
-
Post egg collection or pre-transfer is beneficial to prepare your body
-
Post transfer is a critical time, ideally in the 24-48 hour window after a transfer
-
The two week wait can feel like a lifetime and anxiety levels are high. Acupuncture at this time can really help to calm your nervous system and regulate cortisol levels
-
After a positive test and up until 12 weeks - but some people choose to continue being treated throughout pregnancy
-
If your IVF cycle doesn’t work, I am here to help you to plan next steps, lend a supportive ear and allow you the space and time to rest and heal

How do you support Male fertility?
Addressing male health can significantly improve fertility outcomes!
Male factor infertility contributes to around 40-50% of cases, yet it is often overlooked.
Sperm quality, DNA fragmentation (which studies have shown is linked to increased miscarriage risk and poorer IVF outcomes) and underlying health conditions can all affect conception and early embryo development.

Acupuncture itself can provide support by improving blood flow to the reproductive organs, reducing stress, and supporting hormonal equilibrium. Research shows it may enhance sperm quality, motility, and count. Regular sessions can also help lower inflammation and oxidative stress, both of which are linked to poor sperm health and fertility outcomes.

Via my affiliateship with The Fertility Suite, I can make an online Male Fertility Support Plan available - 'The Fatherhood Foundations’.
